Credential Verification
Every Competency Passport carries a verifiable URL that employers can check directly with Competency Labs — no resume, no PDF, no self-report required.
How employers verify
- Verifiable URLEach Passport is issued at a stable verify.competencylabs.com address that resolves to the live credential record.
- Independent lookupEmployers can also look up a Passport by credential ID from the public verification page — no candidate login required.
- Public projectionThe public verification view exposes only the fields the credential holder has published: name, role, competency scores, and issue date.
Tamper-evident evidence
Passport records are versioned in our system of record. Any change to a published Passport produces a new versioned entry with an updated verification timestamp; historical versions remain resolvable so employers can distinguish a current credential from an older one.
Revocation
Competency Labs may revoke a Passport if a credential was issued in error, if identity integrity is materially compromised, or at the request of the credential holder. Revoked Passports remain resolvable at their verification URL and clearly display a revoked status with the effective date.
