Assessment Integrity

Verified competency is only useful if it can be trusted. Competency Labs applies a graduated set of integrity controls that scale with the stakes of the assessment.

Development vs verified

  • Develop CompetencyAI-reviewed, immediate feedback, unlimited or capped retakes. Not passport-eligible under any circumstances.
  • VerifiedTimed, integrity-instrumented, and human-reviewed before evidence can appear on a Competency Passport.

Integrity controls on verified assessments

  • TimingPer-question and total time limits enforced server-side.
  • Session lockCopy, paste, and window-switch signals are recorded; repeated anomalies are surfaced for review.
  • Attempt disciplineVerified attempts are single-use per window; retakes require a fresh, cleanly scoped attempt record.
  • Off-platform assistance signalsResponse timing, keystroke cadence, and content markers flag responses inconsistent with in-session authorship.

Human review

A qualified human reviewer scores every Passport-eligible attempt against the same rubric, considers integrity signals, and either approves, requests re-attempt, or rejects the evidence. Reviewer decisions are logged and traceable.

Reporting misuse

If you have reason to believe a Competency Passport was earned dishonestly, contact integrity@competencylabs.com. Substantiated reports may result in revocation of the affected credential.

A database-level policy prevents any development attempt from ever being converted into verified Passport evidence — regardless of client behavior.
