Competency Casebooks are structured, role-based simulation collections built around a single clinical research skill area. Each casebook contains 4–10 scenarios that share a realistic clinical context — a fictional protocol, site, or sponsor situation — and asks you to respond as if you were on site.

You read fictional documents, interpret the situation, and submit a written or structured response. An AI-assisted rubric scores your answer against recognized competency criteria, citing verbatim evidence from your submission and the documents you reviewed. The result is private feedback you can use to guide your study and practice.

Casebooks bridge the gap between reading about clinical research and doing it. Instead of memorizing definitions, you practice interpreting consent language, identifying source documentation gaps, and deciding when to escalate a protocol deviation — exactly the judgment calls you make on site.

Every casebook can be attempted in two modes. Practice mode is private, repeatable, and designed for learning. You can retake scenarios, review feedback, and build confidence at your own pace.

Verified mode adds integrity conditions — such as a focused session with activity logging — so the attempt can be used as structured evidence. Verified attempts may be eligible to appear on your Competency Passport with a clear label, showing reviewers that the work was completed under consistent conditions.

Your best verified casebook attempts feed into Competency Passport Lite, a structured readiness profile that shows where you have demonstrated competency evidence. Passport Lite does not certify or credential you; it gives hiring managers, sponsors, and training coordinators a clear, evidence-based signal of where you have practiced and what domains you have explored. Practice attempts stay private and are only visible to you.
