How we handle your waitlist data

This page explains what we collect when you join the waitlist, how we use it, and the controls you have over your information.

This page is maintained by Competency Labs to answer common privacy questions about our waitlist and beta. It is not a certification, legal opinion, or audit report.

Waitlist email

What we collect

When you join the waitlist we ask for your first name, email address, career stage, and target role. We also record how you found us, the page you signed up on, and how long you spent on the form. We do not ask for any other personal information at this stage.

How we use your email

Your email is used to send waitlist updates, invite you to early access, and share product news directly related to CompetencyScore™ and the Competency Passport. We do not sell your email or share it with third-party marketers.

How it's stored

Waitlist entries are stored in our backend database with row-level security, so only authorized Competency Labs team members can read them. Data is encrypted in transit and access is limited to the people who run the waitlist and product operations.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist data until you ask us to delete it, or until it is no longer needed for the launch and early-access program. You can request deletion at any time.

Assessment and beta data

When you submit a CompetencyScore™ diagnostic, simulation, or beta survey, you confirm consent so we can store your responses, scores, and feedback to provide readiness feedback and improve the beta experience. Public Passport links are off by default — you must intentionally enable a shareable link, and public links never show your email, private notes, admin notes, or raw response text.

Your choices

You can ask to see, update, or delete your information at any time. Use the data deletion request form or email support@competencylabs.com. We will handle your request within a few business days.

Platform and security context

Competency Labs is built on a managed backend platform that provides encryption in transit, authentication, and access controls. We do not currently claim ISO certification, SOC 2 certification, HIPAA compliance, or GDPR compliance. See our Trust page for more about our security posture.

Updates

If this policy changes materially before launch, we will update this page and note the change here. Last updated: July 2026.
